Maybelline Fit Me Foundation | Review

Finding the right foundation can be a right mission, especially when you're shopping on the high street or in the drugstore ... the shade selection, the unflattering lighting in the shop, even the lack of testers or proper mirrors. That's why foundations are something that I'm experimental with.

After running out of my Maybelline Dream Fluid Flawless Nude Foundation in Shade 48 and becoming slightly bored of my beloved No7 Stay Perfect Foundation in Warm Sand, I thought it time to switch things up and head over to Boots or Superdrug to have quick nosey around the shelves. About half an hour (and a hand full of swatches later), I left with two new foundations : The Maybelline Fit Me Foundation and the new No7 Airbrush Away Foundation (but that's another post in itself)

I know I took my sweet time getting round to trying out this foundation but I have fallen in love! Why didn't I try this out sooner? The foundation glides onto my skin like a dream, gives me a medium but buildable coverage but still looks and feels like skin. It's perfect! I usually apply this with either my Fancy Witch Foundation Brush or my Zoeva Skin Finish Brush and I find that the gel formula of the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation applies seamlessly without leaving any streaks on the skin. It's really easy for it to look like you're wearing a lot of product on your face and for foundation to look cakey but this foundation doesn't do that - it just gives you a flawless airbrushed finish while still looking like skin.

I picked up the Maybelline Fit Me in Shade 220 Natural Beige, which is a medium toned/olive shade with dark yellow under tones and it matches my complexion perfectly. It has a dewy finish (without looking extremely shiny) and I find that it works for my naturally dry and dehydrated skin well. I don't feel the need to powder it down, but I'd definitely recommend it for longevity or for anyone with oiler skin. I find that it just enhances my complexion and makes my skin look super radiant and healthy and the foundation feels very natural and breathable on my skin.

For me, it's £7.99 well spent and I truly prefer it to some of the other drugstore foundations I've tried recently.

Boots currently have selected Maybelline products on offer for Buy 1 Get 1 Half Price - you can find the Fit Me Foundation here

Although the Fit Me range also offers concealers, I've heard some mixed reviews and am truly faithful to my Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer in Nude. I've worked my way through 2-3 tubes of it and it's become one of my holy grail products since I discovered it. LOVE!

A couple of people who I've spoken to who have tried this foundation have mentioned that the Fit Me can sometimes oxidise after a while of wearing it, which makes the foundation look darker but I personally haven't experienced this.

Have you tried out the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation? What did you think of it?
